Mary Jane's first husband was J. M. Barnes. They were married Garland, Arkansas on April 3, 1883. She was 17 and he was 52. They did not have any children and I am unsure how long this marriage lasted, but it wasn't very long.
She married my ancestor, Carter Andrew Barnett Mayberry when she was 19 and he was 18 on Sept. 23, 1886 in Bell, Texas. They had 12 children together, one of whom is my Great Grandpa Esker. He had a brother born the same day but who died 3 days later.
